Origine: Tigrinya, East Africa
Source: Tigrinya (Eritrea) proverb (ቆልዓ ብንእሱ፣ ቆርበት ብርሕሱ); lingalot.com's Tigrinya page gives it as "Kol'a bneusu korbet brhusu", translated "Guide a child when it's still young just like you treat a hide when it's still fresh", with the explanation quoted here. Earlier recorded here as documented by shabait.com; its "Proverbs: Reflection of a Society" page (2017), read directly, does not contain it.
La source l’explique: This Tigrinya quote teaches that you should guide children when they're young so they can have a bright future.
